Job Summary

Depending on experience and demonstrated capability, senior candidates may also be considered for greater academic and departmental coordination responsibilities within the department over time.

Job Overview

• Department: Electrical and Electronics Engineering

• Experience: Ph.D. mandatory. Minimum 5 years of teaching/research/industry experience for consideration at the Associate Professor level, or 10+ years including at least 5 years as Associate Professor (or equivalent) for the Professor level, as per AICTE/UGC norms. Candidates will be evaluated for the appropriate level based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume departmental administrative responsibilities, including academic coordination, faculty supervision, and accreditation compliance, as required.
• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Guide UG/PG student projects, dissertations, and research scholars.
• Publish research papers in peer-reviewed, SCI/Scopus-indexed journals and reputed conferences.
• File and pursue patents arising from research and project work.
• Undertake and support sponsored research, consultancy, and industry-linked projects.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of academic content.
• Coordinate departmental academic activities such as timetabling, examinations, and accreditation documentation.
• Participate in and help lead NBA/NAAC accreditation activities for the department.
• Mentor junior faculty and students in academics, research, and technical activities.
• Represent the department in institutional committees as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a reputed and recognized institute (IITs, NITs, IISc, or equivalent central/state universities) mandatory.
• First class or equivalent in UG and PG (B.Tech/M.Tech) in the relevant discipline.
• Relevant teaching, research, or industry experience commensurate with the level applied for, as per AICTE/UGC norms.
• Demonstrated record of publications, and where applicable, patents and sponsored projects.
• Strong communication, presentation, and classroom delivery skills.
• Experience guiding student projects and/or research scholars.
• Prior experience coordinating academic programs, committees, or accreditation processes (e.g., program coordinator, exam cell, NBA/NAAC coordinator) will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Candidates with sponsored/funded research projects and consultancy experience.
• Patents filed or granted in relevant areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Publications in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals with a good citation record.
• Prior experience in NBA/NAAC accredited engineering institutions.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams, mentor faculty, and represent the department in institutional forums.
• Strong organizational and leadership qualities suited to taking on growing departmental responsibilities.
• Willingness to mentor students in research, projects, and technical clubs.
