Job summary

Enveda, Hyderabad-based clinical-stage biotech, seeks an Associate Director, Medicinal Chemistry to shape scientific strategy and lead high-performing teams through lead generation to candidate nomination.

You'll drive SAR-driven molecule design, integrate in vitro/in vivo data, and mentor scientists while collaborating with DMPK, IP, Biology, and Computational Chemistry to advance programmes globally. This is a leadership role in a fast-growing biotech.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry or Synthetic Organic Chemistry.
• 15–18 years of integrated drug discovery experience.
• Ability to mentor multiple teams and projects.
• Strong IP understanding and scientific communication.

Associate Director, Medicinal Chemistry

YOUR ROLE

As Associate Director, Medicinal Chemistry at Enveda, you will shape scientific strategy, lead high-performing medicinal chemistry teams, and advance innovative small molecules from lead generation through candidate nomination. Reporting to the VP of Discovery Chemistry, you will be a scientific leader who drives SAR strategy, mentors future scientific leaders, and represents programmes confidently to global leadership and external collaborators — all while building one of the world's leading medicinal chemistry teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead medicinal chemistry strategy from hit identification through candidate nomination; drive molecule design using SAR, SPR, DMPK, and AI insights
• Develop study flow schemes integrating in vitro, in vivo, ADME/PK, and tox data to inform programme decisions
• Mentor scientists to become independent medicinal chemists and future scientific leaders; build a culture of scientific excellence and curiosity
• Represent programmes confidently to global leadership and external collaborators; collaborate with Biology, DMPK, Computational Chemistry, and IP teams
• Leverage AI-enabled molecular design and data-driven decision-making to accelerate the design‑make‑test‑analyse cycle

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• PhD in Medicinal Chemistry or Synthetic Organic Chemistry with 15-18 years of integrated drug discovery experience; international postdoctoral or global pharma experience preferred
• Demonstrated track record of progressing one or more programmes to candidate nomination or clinical development
• Ability to mentor and lead multiple teams and projects in parallel
• Strong understanding of intellectual property — composition of matter, method of use, and chemical processes
• Outstanding scientific communication and presentation skills
