Job summary

WSP India is seeking a transport modelling professional to contribute to planning and modelling projects across sectors. The role involves strategic modelling using Saturn or VISUM, and working with GIS, Excel VBA, and Python to support analyses.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and graduates, ensuring delivery on time and within budgets, while aligning with project scopes and client requirements. A background in transport planning is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Understanding of fundamental modelling techniques, traffic management techniques and Transport for London, Highways England and Local Authority design and modelling guidance.
• Previous experience and capability in programming, VBA; and
• Paper presented at / published in recognised national / internal journal(s)/ conference(s) will be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Strategic modelling using Saturn or VISUM software.

• Understanding of supporting tools e.g. GIS, Excel VBA and Python.

• Detailed knowledge to UK Transport Planning and modeling guidelines.

• Understanding of software’s theories and limitations.

• Support the successful delivery of high quality projects on time and to budgets.

• Conduct required checks and reviews of iCRC team’s analysis and designs.

• Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables.

• Coordinate with Senior Engineers and support graduates in the team.

• Research and review design options for both technical and economic impact.

• Support line manager in planning resource needs and elevate as required if there are resource or utilization concerns.

• Provide feedback to line manager on the team’s performance and development requirements.

• In conjunction with line manager identify, assess and manage technical project risk.

• Support the company’s approach to sustainability.

• Attend and contribute in team and project meetings.

• Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline..

• Feedback on all business development opportunities.
