• LL.M. / Master’s Degree in Law in the relevant subject.
• Minimum 55% at Master’s level; relaxations as per UGC/University rules.
• NET / SET / SLET as applicable. Ph.D. may provide exemption from NET/SET/SLET.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to teach Law effectively.
• Good English communication, presentation and classroom skills.
• Teaching experience in Law at college/university level preferred.

About the Role

The selected faculty members will contribute to the academic excellence and development of the School of Law through effective teaching, research, student mentoring and participation in academic and co-curricular activities. The role requires strong knowledge of Law, effective classroom communication, a student-centric approach and a commitment to continuous academic and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Academic & Teaching

Deliver engaging and effective UG/PG Law courses.

Demonstrate strong and current knowledge of legal concepts, statutes and case laws.

Use case studies, practical examples and contemporary legal developments to enhance classroom learning.

Prepare teaching materials, presentations and other academic resources.

Contribute to curriculum delivery, academic planning and departmental activities.

Mentor and guide students in their academic and professional development.

Support moot courts, internships, legal aid, competitions, projects and dissertations.

Encourage students to participate in seminars, conferences and other co-curricular activities.

Contribute to improving students' employability and practical understanding of the legal profession.

Research & Academic Development

Undertake research and contribute to research papers, publications, conferences, seminars and academic projects.

Support postgraduate research and academic project supervision, where applicable.

Participate in faculty development programmes and contribute to the academic growth of the School of Law.

Practical & Professional Engagement

Bring relevant court practice, legal consultancy, corporate/legal industry or legal aid experience into classroom teaching.

Develop professional connections with the legal fraternity and contribute to practical legal education.

Participate in clinical legal education, ADR and other professional activities where relevant.

Digital & Innovative Teaching

Use PPT, LMS, online teaching platforms, digital legal databases and technology-enabled learning tools.

Adopt innovative teaching practices to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.

Qualifications

LL.M. / Master’s Degree in Law in the concerned, relevant or allied subject, or an applicable higher Law qualification.

Normally 55% at Master’s level or equivalent grade, subject to applicable UGC/University rules and permitted relaxations.

NET / SET / SLET as applicable. A Ph.D. awarded under applicable UGC regulations may provide exemption from NET/SET/SLET, subject to prevailing rules.

Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach Law effectively.

Good English communication, presentation and classroom skills.

Teaching experience in Law at college/university level is preferred, with UG/PG teaching exposure being an added advantage.

Research publications and research project experience.

Ph.D./LL.M. guidance or academic project supervision.

Court, Bar, legal-industry or professional experience.

Experience in moot courts, legal aid, clinical legal education, internships and ADR.
