Position Summary

Rama University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Computer Science. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to high‑quality teaching, research, and institutional development in alignment with the university’s vision and mission. The role involves delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, conducting cutting‑edge research, mentoring students, and participating in departmental and university activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning
    • Deliver lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computer Science.
    • Develop and update course curricula, ensuring alignment with industry trends and UGC/AICTE guidelines.
    • Employ innovative pedagogical methods, including ICT‑enabled teaching, to enhance student learning outcomes.
    • Supervise student projects, internships, and dissertations.
    • Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, and other assessment tools.
  • Research and Innovation
    • Conduct high‑quality research in Computer Science, leading to publications in peer‑reviewed journals and conferences.
    • Apply for and secure research grants from national and international funding agencies.
    • Guide Ph.D. scholars and foster a research‑oriented environment.
    • Collaborate with industry and academic partners on research projects.
  • Institutional and Administrative Duties
    • Participate in departmental and university committees, including NAAC/IQAC activities.
    • Contribute to curriculum development, accreditation processes, and quality assurance initiatives.
    • Organize workshops, seminars, and conferences to promote academic and industry collaboration.
    • Engage in student mentoring and career counseling.
  • Community Engagement
    • Participate in outreach programs, including community service and extension activities.
    • Promote the university’s vision through active involvement in academic and professional networks.
Qualifications
  • Educational Requirements
    • Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field from a recognized university (as per UGC norms).
    • Masters degree (MTech./M.E./M.Sc.) in Computer Science or equivalent with at least 55% marks (or equivalent CGPA).
    • Candidates with a valid NET/SLET/SET qualification or those exempted as per UGC regulations are preferred.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 1-3 years of teaching or research experience at a university or equivalent institution (preferred but not mandatory for fresh Ph.D. holders).
    • Proven record of research publications in reputed journals or conferences is desirable.
    • Experience in curriculum design or industry collaboration is an advantage.
  • Technical Skills
    • Expertise in one or more areas of Computer Science, such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, or Theoretical Computer Science.
    • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, etc.) and modern tools/frameworks.
    • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and software for Computer Science education.
