Job summary

Kumaran Systems is seeking an Assistant Manager – Talent Management to design, execute, and continually improve talent strategies across the organization, with a focus on performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and high-potential programs to build a strong internal pipeline aligned with business goals.

Qualifications

  • MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent preferred.
  • 7–11 years of HR experience with at least 4–5 years in Talent Management / Performance Management.
  • Experience in IT/ITeS, technology, or professional services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Talent Management Strategy & Execution: Support the implementation of the organization’s talent management framework and policies.
  • Performance Management: Manage the end-to-end performance management cycle (goal setting, mid-year, annual reviews).
  • Succession Planning & Talent Reviews: Coordinate annual and mid-year talent review and succession planning exercises.
  • Learning & Leadership Development: Partner with L&D to design and deploy leadership and behavioral development programs.
  • Employee Engagement & Career Development: Contribute to career framework and career pathing initiatives.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Prepare periodic talent dashboards and management reports.
  • Governance, Communication & Change Management: Ensure adherence to talent management policies, processes, and timelines.

Role Summary

The Assistant Manager – Talent Management will support the design, execution, and continuous improvement of talent management strategies across the organization. This role focuses on performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and high-potential talent programs to build a strong internal talent pipeline aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities
Talent Management Strategy & Execution
  • Support the implementation of the organization’s talent management framework and policies.
  • Partner with HRBPs and business leaders to identify current and future talent needs.
  • Drive initiatives related to succession planning, internal mobility, and talent reviews.
  • Track and report key talent metrics (e.g., bench strength, internal fill rates, attrition of key roles).
Performance Management
  • Manage the end-to-end performance management cycle (goal setting, mid-year, annual reviews).
  • Support design and refinement of performance management tools, templates, and guidelines.
  • Facilitate calibration discussions with managers to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Conduct training/awareness sessions for managers and employees on performance processes.
Succession Planning & Talent Reviews
  • Coordinate annual and mid-year talent review and succession planning exercises.
  • Work with business leaders to identify critical roles and successors.
  • Maintain succession and high-potential talent databases and dashboards.
  • Monitor development actions for successors and high-potential employees.
Learning & Leadership Development
  • Partner with L&D to design and deploy leadership and behavioral development programs.
  • Identify development needs for key roles and high-potential talent through assessments and feedback.
  • Support design and implementation of IDPs (Individual Development Plans) for key talent.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and business impact metrics.
Employee Engagement & Career Development
  • Contribute to career framework and career pathing initiatives.
  • Support the design and communication of career development tools and resources.
  • Facilitate talent conversations between managers and employees.
  • Collaborate on engagement action plans derived from engagement and pulse surveys.
Analytics & Reporting
  • Prepare periodic talent dashboards and management reports.
  • Analyze data to identify trends in performance, attrition, promotion, and internal movement.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve talent outcomes and processes.
Governance, Communication & Change Management
  • Ensure adherence to talent management policies, processes, and timelines.
  • Prepare communication materials, FAQs, and guides for talent programs.
  • Support change management and stakeholder engagement for new or revised HR initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Education:
    • MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 7–11 years of overall HR experience with at least 4–5 years in Talent Management / Performance Management.
  • Industry:
    • Experience in IT/ITeS, technology, or professional services preferred.
