Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is seeking a Senior Associate to manage accounting for entities, coordinate with tax and audit teams, and ensure regulatory compliance across global books. The role involves delivering timely financial reporting and maintaining strong controls.

The successful candidate will interact with multiple business units and external auditors, contributing to accurate month-end closes and insightful financial analyses for senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Accounting graduates with core experience in the areas described.
  • Part qualification in globally recognized accounting bodies (CA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in an audit firm.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make well-informed decisions.
  • Detail focus and accuracy orientation.
  • Experience using SAP, Oracle and Oracle Fusion systems is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting and control services to LSEG subsidiaries.
  • Work with business partners to ensure entities are accounted for accurately and with strong controls.
  • Ensure month-end close adheres to the reporting timetable and that accounts are reconciled with supporting documents.
  • Carry out balance sheet and cost reviews.
  • Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely statutory audits.
  • Coordinate with tax and transfer pricing teams on tax packs and provisions across group and local books.
  • Assist tax team with audits and ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Review financial documents and analyze material variances.
  • Present to the Board of Directors on financial performance and insights.
  • Evaluate accounting issues and recommend treatments to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to LSEG policies and maintain proper financial controls.

Job description

Position Summary

The jobholder works independently or supports the Business Unit Controller in all aspects of accounting for an entity or a group of entities, working with 3rd Party providers for statutory and tax reporting, yearend submissions and other accounting areas.

The objective is to ensure compliance with accounting policies and Local Tax & GAAP requirements. The jobholder is encouraged to interact closely with various groups including but not limited to Business Units, General Accounting organization, Group Finance, Group Finance, Group Finance, Group Finance, Group Finance, Group Finance, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and 3rd party providers and to manage the relationship with our local statutory auditors.

Role Responsibilities
  • Responsible for timely & accurate delivery of financial reporting and control related services to the subsidiaries of the London Stock Exchange Group Ltd.
  • Work with various business partners to ensure legal entities are accurately, completely and timely accounted for in the enterprise systems, as well as to ensure good controls of underlying processes.
  • Ensure the month end close in adherence to reporting timetable, perform reviews to ensure that critical accounts are reconciled with underlying documentation, that transactions are coded accurately in line with relevant accounting policies.
  • Carryout balance sheet and cost reviews.
  • Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely completion of statutory audits.
  • Liaise with tax and transfer pricing teams, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tax packs, booking tax provisions, review of Transfer Pricing calculation on quarterly basis for group books, and on annual basis for local books.
  • Aid tax team in addressing tax audits and ensure timely completion of tax audits.
  • Review of financial documents and analysis of material variances.
  • Responsible for presenting to the Board of Directors the Company's financial performance, financial position, and key business insights.
  • Evaluating accounting issues and recommending suitable accounting treatments to support accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure that the team adheres to the London Stock Exchange Group policies and procedures and ensure that proper financial controls are in place.

Preferred Skills And Experience
  • Accounting Graduates having core prior experience in the specific areas as mentioned above.
