You will be responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the Materials Department in line with Hyatt's brand standards, corporate strategies, and operational requirements, while meeting the expectations of employees, guests, and hotel ownership. The role supports the planning, sourcing, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials required for hotel operations. You will assist in vendor management, contract administration, inventory control, cost optimization, and ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and procedures. The Assistant Manager Materials will work closely with department heads and suppliers to maintain quality standards, timely deliveries, and effective stock management while supporting the hotel's financial objectives and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate should possess a university degree or diploma in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Manager Materials, Assistant Manager Purchasing, or a similar procurement role in a hotel environment is preferred. Candidates with prior experience as a Team Leader in Materials, Purchasing, or Stores within a large hotel operation will also be considered. Strong knowledge of inventory management, procurement processes, vendor negotiations, contract administration, and cost control practices is essential. Excellent analytical, administrative, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel procurement systems. The ability to work collaboratively, maintain supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards is critical for success in this role.
