Job summary

Adani Ports and SEZ is seeking an experienced Horticulture and Landscape Manager to oversee healthful plant maintenance and beautification across port facilities. You will lead teams, supervise irrigation, and monitor sustainability and safety compliance.

The role requires 5–8 years in horticulture or landscaping, with preference for port/industrial site experience and a strong track record in contractor management and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with relevant horticulture knowledge.
• 5-8 years experience in horticulture, landscaping or facility management.
• Experience with industrial plants/ports/SEZs preferred.
• Strong contractor and budget management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and maintain landscaped areas, gardens, lawns, medians and green belts across port premises.
• Supervise day-to-day horticulture operations including pruning, watering, mowing, trimming and replantation.
• Monitor plant health and implement disease, pest, and nutrient control measures.
• Manage irrigation systems and promote water conservation practices.
• Oversee vendor and contractor performance, record keeping, and contractual compliance.
• Prepare annual maintenance plans and budgets, monitor expenditures, and optimize costs.
• Ensure safety handling of fertilizers and pesticides and maintain compliance records.

Responsibilities

Horticulture & Landscape Management

• Plan, develop, and maintain landscaped areas, gardens, lawns, medians, and green belts across the port premises.
• Ensure healthy growth and maintenance of trees, shrubs, flowering plants, and ornamental vegetation.
• Develop seasonal plantation programs and beautification initiatives for port infrastructure.
• Monitor plant health and implement corrective measures for disease, pest, and nutrient management.

Maintenance & Operations

• Supervise day-to-day horticulture operations, including pruning, watering, mowing, trimming, and replantation activities.
• Ensure optimum functioning of irrigation systems and water conservation practices.
• Conduct routine inspections of landscaped areas and take proactive measures to maintain greenery standards.
• Maintain inventory of plants, fertilizers, pesticides, tools, and horticultural equipment.

Environmental Sustainability

• Support environmental sustainability initiatives through plantation drives and green cover enhancement programs.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to plantation and green belt development.
• Promote eco-friendly landscaping practices and efficient utilization of natural resources.

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Manage horticulture contractors, gardeners, and outsourced workforce.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to scope, quality, safety, and timelines.
• Verify bills, maintain records, and ensure contractual compliance.

Planning & Budget Management

• Prepare annual horticulture maintenance plans and budgets.
• Monitor expenditure and ensure cost optimization without compromising landscape quality.
• Recommend innovative landscaping solutions and sustainability measures.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safe handling and storage of fertilizers, pesticides, and gardening equipment.
• Adhere to organizational HSE standards and statutory requirements.
• Maintain documentation related to horticulture activities, plantation records, and compliance reports.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Forestry, Landscape Management, or related discipline.
• Master's Degree in Horticulture or Landscape Management will be preferred.

Experience

• 5-8 years of experience in horticulture, landscaping, green belt development, or facility management.
• Experience in industrial plants, ports, SEZs, airports, townships, or large infrastructure projects preferred.
