Job summary

Flex is seeking an Assistant Manager - General Ledger in Chennai to lead Month-End Close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will interact with Controllers and senior leaders to explain variances and results, while ensuring GL controls and process discipline across the finance function.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in commerce/accounting, strong communication, and analytical skills, with proficiency in ERP systems and financial tools.

• Typically requires a B. Com / B.C. S / M. Com / MBA /BBA/ BBM, any other commerce and Accounts Stream degrees.
• Typically requires 8+ years of related experience.
• Good Verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Manage Month-End Close process end-to-end.
• Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Present financial results, reconciliations, and variances to Controllers, RFDs, and RVPs.
• Proficiently work with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure proper General Ledger accounting, accruals, provisions and controls.
• Drive process improvements, standardization and automation initiatives.

What a typical day looks like:

• Strong experience in independently managing the Month-End Close (MEC) process.
• Hands-on expertise in Balance Sheet Reconciliations, including analysis and resolution of reconciling items.
• Ability to effectively present and explain financial results, reconciliations, and variances to Controllers, RFDs, and RVPs.
• Proficient in working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Sound understanding of General Ledger accounting, accruals, provisions, and financial controls.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in driving process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives
