JOB DESCRIPTION – ASSISTANT MANAGER – FINANCE

Role Overview:

Key role in driving financial planning, analysis, and performance management, with a strong focus on sales and business finance. The role involves close collaboration with Sales and cross-functional teams to analyse revenue, margins, profitability, budgets, forecasts, and receivables, while providing meaningful financial insights to support business performance and strategic and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyse sales revenue and business performance against budgets and targets.
• Prepare and present periodic Sales MIS, financial reports, and management dashboards.
• Analyse revenue, margins, profitability, and sales trends across products, customers, regions, and channels.
• Track sales budgets and forecasts against actual performance and prepare variance analysis.
• Review sales-related expenses, including discounts, schemes, rebates, and incentives.
• Prepare customer-wise, product-wise, and channel-wise profitability analysis.
• Monitor receivables, collections, outstanding balances, and credit exposure.
• Coordinate with Sales and Business teams for collection follow-ups and resolution of financial and commercial issues.
• Support the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting, and monthly business performance reviews.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales and financial data to management.
• Identify key variances, financial risks, and improvement opportunities and highlight them to the management.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support commercial and operational decision-making.
• Maintain and improve MIS reports and financial dashboards to support regular business reviews.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial and sales-related data.

Experience:

• 2+ years of relevant experience in Finance / Business Finance / Sales Finance.
• Good exposure to Sales Finance, Revenue Analysis, Profitability Analysis, MIS, Budgeting, and Receivables Management.
• Experience in Manufacturing, FMCG, Consumer Products, or similar industries is preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, and business performance analysis.
• Experience working closely with Sales and cross-functional business teams.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Ability to independently handle reporting and analysis activities with minimum supervision.
