Job summary

Jubilant Ingrevia Limited in Bharuch, Gujarat seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to provide technical expertise in civil design review, BOQ preparation, and CAPEX documentation for industrial projects. You will ensure compliance with process layouts, EHS norms, and budget constraints while coordinating with EPC contractors and internal teams.

Ideal candidates have 6–7 years of relevant experience, including 4 years in design review, and at least 2 years in industrial construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 6–7 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 4 years in design/review roles.
• At least 2 years of experience in industrial construction or execution.
• Exposure to PMC or consultancy environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate civil and structural designs, drawings, and calculations.
• Process and utility structures, warehousing and ancillary facilities, cleanroom facilities.
• Ensure designs comply with strength, stability, serviceability, constructability, and maintainability standards.
• Coordinate with design consultants, EPCs, PMC teams, and internal stakeholders to track submissions and approvals.
• Drive cost optimization through design rationalization and material efficiency; participate in value engineering.

Role Overview

The role is responsible for providing technical expertise in civil and structural design review, BOQ preparation, CAPEX documentation, and cost optimization for industrial and infrastructure projects. The incumbent will ensure that all civil and structural works align with concept layouts, process requirements, EHS norms, quality standards, and applicable codes while adhering to project timelines, budgets, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate civil and structural designs, drawings, and calculations submitted by design consultants and EPC contractors.
• Process and utility structures
• Warehousing and ancillary facilities
• Cleanroom facilities
• Ensure designs comply with:
  • Strength, stability, and serviceability requirements
  • Constructability and maintainability standards

Structural Engineering & Detailing Review

• Review RCC and steel structural designs, including:
  • Structural framing systems
  • Foundation systems (isolated, combined, raft, and pile foundations)
  • Equipment foundations and pipe support structures
• Validate steel structure connection detailing to ensure:
  • Compliance with applicable codes and design intent
  • Constructability, erection feasibility, and safety
• Review fabrication and construction drawings for completeness, accuracy, and clarity

BOQ Preparation & CAPEX Management

• Prepare BOQs and CAPEX estimates based on concept layouts, preliminary designs, and process requirements
• Validate BOQs submitted by consultants and contractors
• Develop and review:
  • Cost estimates
  • Rate analysis
  • Quantity take-offs
• Provide technical inputs for tendering, bid evaluation, and contractor selection
• Drive cost optimization initiatives through:
  • Design rationalization
  • Structural system efficiency improvements
  • Material and specification optimization
• Ensure cost savings without compromising safety, quality, or compliance
• Participate in value engineering and design optimization exercises
• Review and validate civil technical specifications in line with project standards and industry best practices

Process & EHS Compliance Validation

• Validate civil and structural designs against:
  • Process equipment layouts
  • Utility routing requirements
  • EHS and safety standards
• Ensure adequate:
  • Access and clearances
  • Safety provisions and compliance with statutory guidelines
• Collaborate with process, mechanical, and EHS teams to resolve design conflicts

Coordination & Documentation Management

• Coordinate closely with:
  • Design consultants
  • PMC teams
  • Contractors and internal stakeholders
• Manage and track:
  • Design submissions and approvals
  • Revision control and DCI processes
  • Technical documentation and records
• Provide technical recommendations and reports to management
• Ensure:
  • Timely and within-budget project completion
  • Proper documentation and closure of assigned projects
  • Effective resolution of on-site design challenges through cross-functional coordination
