Job summary

Epiroc is seeking an Assistant Engineer - Electrical in Nashik to join the Assembly team. You will assemble, wire and test electrical systems on machinery, interpret electrical drawings and ensure quality and safety standards are met through LEAN practices.

The role requires a Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 3–5 years of experience, and familiarity with PLC-based systems, CAN Bus communication and electro-hydraulic controls is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering required with 3–5 years of experience in assembly, wiring, testing and troubleshooting industrial equipment.
  • Experience with mining/construction equipment or electro-hydraulic systems is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical panels, sensors, actuators, VFDs and machine commissioning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical assembly, wiring, routing, termination and installation of electrical components per Epiroc standards and drawings.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules and assembly drawings.
  • Carry out testing, verification and commissioning of electrical systems and machine functions.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, hydraulic and assembly technicians during machine build and testing.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electro-hydraulic, PLC and CAN Bus related issues during assembly and testing.

Job Title: Assistant Engineer - Electrical

Job Mission

As an Assistant Engineer – Electrical, you will be a part of the Assembly team and will be responsible for electrical and Mechanical assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting of Epiroc machines as per defined quality and safety standards. Your role is to improve assembly efficiency through safe and advanced assembly techniques while driving LEAN, KAIZEN, and 5S initiatives to ensure quality products and on-time delivery.

  • Perform electrical assembly, wiring, routing, termination, and installation of electrical components as per Epiroc standards and engineering drawings.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and assembly drawings.
  • Carry out testing, verification, and commissioning of electrical systems and machine functions.
  • Ensure products are assembled and delivered with the right quality and within planned timelines.
  • Perform electrical assembly, parameter checks, continuity testing, sensor calibration, and functional testing.
  • Coordinate with Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Assembly Technicians during machine build-up and testing activities.
  • Support engineering and product development activities by providing assembly and testing feedback.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electro-hydraulic, PLC, sensor, and communication-related issues during assembly and testing.
  • Verify proper operation of electrical systems including control panels, HMI, CAN communication, safety circuits, lighting systems, and machine controllers.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions related to assembly and testing issues.
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS requirements, electrical safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain workplace organization through 5S practices.
  • Contribute to LEAN manufacturing initiatives and KAIZEN activities.
  • Maintain assembly and testing records according to quality requirements.

Experience requirements

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 3–5 years of experience in assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment or heavy machinery.
  • Experience in mining equipment, construction equipment, mobile machinery, or electro-hydraulic systems will be an added advantage.
  • Hands‑on experience in electrical panel wiring, sensors, actuators, VFDs, PLC-based systems, and machine commissioning preferred.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of machine control systems, CAN Bus communication, sensors, and fault diagnostics using service tools/software will be an added advantage.

Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electro‑hydraulic systems.
  • Basic understanding of PLC systems, CAN Bus communication, and machine control systems.
  • Understanding of troubleshooting methodologies and fault diagnostics.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and LOTO (Lock‑Out Tag‑Out) procedures.
  • Awareness of quality systems and documentation practices.
  • Understanding of LEAN Manufacturing, KAIZEN, and 5S principles.

Educational requirements

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Additional certification in Industrial Automation, PLC, Electrical Testing will be an advantage.
