Job summary

Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. in Bengaluru seeks a software engineer to design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and modern frontend frameworks.

You will work across backend, frontend, and database layers to deliver scalable, reliable systems. You will collaborate with UI/UX designers, integrate with third-party services, ensure cross‑browser compatibility, and align with DevOps for cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience.
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Expertise in Java, React JS, and HTML5.
• Familiar with distributed systems, NoSQL/SQL databases, and messaging.
• Experience integrating with RESTful web services.
• Comfortable with Agile operating models.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices with Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop responsive front-ends with modern frameworks (Angular/React/Vue).
• Design and manage relational and NoSQL databases and optimize queries.
• Collaborate with DevOps to deploy applications in cloud environments.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; debug issues and improve quality.

Key Responsibilities

Back-End Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java , Spring Boot etc.
• Implement business logic, database interactions, and integrations with third-party services.
• Optimize application performance and ensure scalability.

Front-End Development:

• Develop responsive and user-friendly interfaces using modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, or Vue.js).
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement designs and ensure a seamless user experience.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.

Database Management:

• Design and manage relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Write efficient queries and optimize database performance.

DevOps and Deployment:

• Collaborate with DevOps to deploy applications in cloud environments

Testing and Debugging:

• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality.
• Debug and resolve application issues in a timely manner.

Skills And Experience We Are Looking For

• Between 3+ years experience
• B.S. or higher in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Expertise in Java, React JS, HTML5
• Familiar with one or more of the following:
  • Distributed systems
  • NoSQL and relational databases
  • Distributed messaging
  • Transactional services
• Experience integrating with Restful web services
• Ability to establish trusted partnerships with product heads, and executive level stakeholders
• Comfortable with Agile Operating Models

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with microservice based architecture
• Experience with Kafka, MongoDB, Spring, vert.X
