Job summary

Morgan Stanley in Mumbai seeks a Trading Desk Assistant with a strong background in mathematics and finance to support the G10 Interest Rate Trading desk. The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate, Currency Products, Commodities, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manages risk, trade securities, derivatives, lending and repo products, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets.

From the largest global institutions to innovative new hedge funds, investors come to Morgan Stanley for sales, trading, and market-making services in almost every type of financial instruments including stocks, bonds, derivatives, foreign exchange, and commodities. Background on the Team

As part of the Fixed Income Division, the Trading Desk Assistant is responsible for working with and supporting the G10 Interest Rate Trading desk in Mumbai. The team covers Asia, EMEA and North America hours supporting Fixed Income and is functionally split based on the area of work.

Primary Responsibilities

The role involves working with and supporting the G10 Interest Rate Trading desk in Mumbai. The role suits a self-motivated, highly energetic individual who has a good background in mathematical analysis and strong understanding of the fixed income markets/products, as well as an understanding of trade execution and trade lifecycle management.

Support the Asia Interest Rate Trading Desk in Mumbai [Asia working hours].

Perform trade capture & risk reviews including risk moves, lifecycle management, trade bookings and amendments.

Provide support to end of day P&L reviews.

Work with the desk to improve trading platform through streamlining processes and automation.

Educational background in Finance, mathematics, or engineering.

Strong understanding in math/engineering, economics finance

Understanding of Interest rate products and markets (Bonds, Interest Rates derivatives)

Proficiency in MS office products Excel, Power point.

Must be self-motivated, confident and possess good communication skills.

Attention to detail.

Preferred credential

Strong knowledge and expertise in excel, with ability to analyse and automate processes.

Fixed income product knowledge with professional work experience

Interest in macroeconomics and trading

Background in statistics and/or data analytics
