Role Description

The Articled Assistant will support the firm’s audit, taxation, and accounting functions on a day-to-day basis. Responsibilities include assisting with statutory and tax audits, preparing working papers, maintaining accounting records, and supporting GST compliance and tax return preparation. The role also involves documentation, data compilation, basic financial analysis, and coordinating with senior team members for client queries and filings. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Surat, requiring regular interaction with the team and, where needed, visits to client locations.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including ledger posting, reconciliation, and familiarity with financial statements.
• Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of taxation, GST compliance, and basic understanding of audit and assurance procedures.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and Word) and the ability to work with accounting or tax software.
• Candidates should possess good analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills to handle data and identify discrepancies.
• Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with team members and clients.
• Candidates should possess strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Enrollment as an Article under CA regulations (e.g., IPCC/Intermediate cleared as per ICAI requirements) is preferred; relevant academic background in commerce or finance is beneficial.
