Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti in Chennai, India, is seeking an Architect in our Restoration & Renewal Practice to support evaluation and rehabilitation of existing buildings and their envelope systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or architectural detailing tools is a plus, but not required.

Our Restoration & Renewal practice investigates existing buildings’ envelope problems and provides evidence-based solutions. We access the exterior building envelope to perform observations utilizing the boom lift and suspended scaffold access. We prepare drawings and specifications for the required roof and façade repairs and provide technical support during the bid and construction phases, with frequent site visits to review the quality of work and conformance with contract documents, as well as special inspections. We assist property managers, building owners, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues. The majority of our projects involve historic buildings and structures, but we also assist with contemporary buildings.

Your Role

As an Architect in our Restoration & Renewal Practice, you will support the evaluation and rehabilitation of existing buildings and building envelope systems.
