Job summary

Bank of America in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced IAM Solution Architect to design and secure Identity & Access Management systems across the organization. You will collaborate with CIO teams to improve security posture and drive improvements in IAM architectures and authentication workflows.

The role requires deep expertise in identity management, PING,AWS IAM, EntraID, and Java/J2EE, with strong communication to lead architecture discussions and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Information Security with 7+ years in identity and authentication.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Expertise in identity and authentication methodologies, techniques, and technologies.
  • Strong experience with PING products, AWS IAM, and EntraID.
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, Cloud Identity, Access Management, and design and architecture of authentication services or Identity Store.
  • Security knowledge covering core technology infrastructure, identity management and application security practice.
  • Knowledge of IAM IGA related tools; experience with vaulting and integration with service management tools is an advantage.
  • Strong development experience in Java/J2EE technologies.
  • Proficient in articulating data-driven plans and partnering with stakeholders to implement risk-reducing solutions within IAM standards.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines such as SOX, OCC, NIST, ISO/EC, FFIEC within the financial services sector.
  • Possession of CISSP certification is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in data management and advanced analytical capabilities for metadata collection and analysis.

  • Communicate: Communicate problems, risks, challenges, and evangelize IAM best practices to drive discussions across key stakeholders.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) Solution Architect to join an exciting team within Global Information Security (GIS). The role focuses on designing, strengthening, and securing the Bank’s Identity & Access Management systems and overall security posture. It involves collaboration across all Lines of Business and CIO teams to continuously improve the organization's security adherence. The Solution Architect will design, identify, and document inefficiencies and prioritize improvement opportunities across IAM and authentication-related projects.

Responsibilities
  • Design: Manage all aspects of delivery for solution design, including capturing security requirements, identifying risks & opportunities, and aligning to information security policy. Create portfolio level, high‑level and low‑level design (PLD/HLD/LLD) documentation for IAM architectures, integrations, and solution components. Perform IAM‑focused threat modeling to assess security risks, identify attack vectors, and define mitigation strategies across identity platforms and authentication workflows.
  • Research: Maintain thought leadership in identity and access technology, remaining up to date on offerings of various service providers. Conduct research on emerging IAM technologies, authentication protocols, threat landscapes, and best practices to inform platform strategy.
  • Consult: Serve as a technical security design resource through the Systems Development Lifecycle and provide expert guidance on design decisions, standards, and operational practices. Support creation of new and leverage existing secure patterns to optimize identity and access designs. Lead discussions in architecture review board.
  • Communicate: Communicate problems, risks, challenges, and evangelize IAM best practices to drive discussions across key stakeholders. Cross‑collaborate with line(s) of business teams and other security and IT support functions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in Information Security, with 7+ years relevant hands‑on experience in identity and authentication in a large, complex organization.
  • Foundational Skills:
    • Expertise in identity and authentication methodologies, techniques, and technologies.
    • Strong experience with PING products, AWS IAM, and EntraID.
    • Experience with Linux, Windows, Cloud Identity, Access Management, and design and architecture of authentication services or Identity Store.
