Job Summary
The Application Development Tech Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead technical solutions, mentor developers, and conduct design, code, and documentation reviews.
- Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Manage all phases from analysis and design to coding, testing, and continuous integration.
- Database Management: Design, manage, and optimize relational and NoSQL databases, including query development and indexing.
- Data Management: Develop efficient data management components, process external data, and ensure data sharing between microservices with auditing.
- Microservices & Java Development: Develop and enhance Java microservices, including middleware and web endpoints, managing inter-service communication.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and ensure application security, analyze third‑party software compatibility, and adhere strictly to Citi's engineering standards.
- Architectural Improvement: Proactively suggest improvements to software architecture, processes, and technologies, including designing real‑time data ingestion frameworks for cloud.
- Client & Team Communication: Maintain clear communication with clients and project teams.
- Operational Autonomy: Operate with limited supervision and help define operating standards.
Qualifications
- 12 plus years of relevant experience in the financial services industry.
- Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications.
- Experience as a senior level in an applications development role.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Experience managing and implementing successful projects.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of applications development.
- Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Be the technical expert and mentor other team members.
Technical Skills
- Java/J2EE Technologies: Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring MVC, Spring Web, REST API.
- Languages: Java 17, JavaScript.
- Databases: Oracle, PL/SQL.
- Web Technologies: React, Angular, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, JSON, XML.
- DevOps & Cloud: Linux, Maven, Gradle, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, MQ, Kafka, AWS.
- Tools: Git, GitHub, Postman, SOAP UI, IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, SQL Developer.
- Data modeling (relational and NoSQL databases – Oracle, MongoDB).
- PL/SQL, SQL, and performance tuning expertise.
- Working experience of designing end-to-end applications using Microservices or Domain Driven Design architecture methods is must.
- Strong knowledge of design patterns/techniques.
- Experience in multi-threaded application development using J2EE, Spring, Hibernate development.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
