Citigroup Inc. is seeking an Applications Development Group Manager to drive data engineering, data platforms, and enterprise data transformation initiatives. You will oversee end-to-end delivery, data strategy, and collaboration with business units to deploy analytics solutions and ML models.

You will lead large teams, manage stakeholders, and ensure data quality, security, and compliance across complex data ecosystems, partnering with technology and business leaders globally.

Qualifications

  • 15 to 20 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, Reporting, and Enterprise Data Transformation initiatives within large-scale financial services organizations.
  • Python / PySpark expertise.
  • Proven leadership in delivering enterprise-wide data transformation and modernization programs, including ETL, data migrations and platform performance optimization.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases and database design.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver EIM and Issue Management data including CAPs, Exceptions, Milestones, and end-to-end workflows.
  • Influence with senior stakeholders across lines of business within Controls Technology.
  • Coordinate data and reporting integrations with other module leads and enhance data platforms.
  • Lead the data strategy roadmap for enterprise data, including data management, warehouse and analytics solutions.
  • Build and maintain batch or real-time data pipelines and data infrastructure for extraction, loading, and transformation.
  • Automate data workflows and prepare raw data in Data Warehouses for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Partner with data scientists and business units to deploy ML models in production and deploy data products.

Job description

The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for client engagement and management, end to end management and delivery of the technology Book Of Work and technology roadmap for the Data and Reporting.
  • Deliver EIM and Issue Management Data, including CAPs, Exceptions, Milestones, and the end-to-end issue management lifecycle and workflows.
  • Influence and negotiate with senior business and technology stakeholders across lines of businesses within Controls Technology
  • Provide strategic direction and coordinate with other modules leads for data and reporting integrations and enhancements.
  • Lead the implementation of data strategy roadmap for the enterprise data, including data management for our enterprise data, warehouse and advanced data analytics/reporting solutions
  • Design, build and maintain batch or real-time data pipelines in data platform.
  • Maintain and optimize the data infrastructure required for accurate extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
  • Develop ETL (extract, transform, load) processes to help extract and manipulate data from multiple sources.
  • Automate data workflows such as data ingestion, aggregation, and ETL processing.
  • Prepare raw data in Data Warehouses into a consumable dataset for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Partner with data scientists and functional leaders in sales, marketing, and product to deploy machine learning models in production.
  • Build, maintain, and deploy data products for analytics and data science teams on data platform
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, privacy, security, and compliance through quality control procedures.
  • Monitor data systems performance and implement optimization strategies.
  • Leverage data controls to maintain data privacy, security, compliance, and quality for allocated areas of ownership.
  • Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
  • Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
  • Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
  • Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 15 to 20 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, Reporting, and Enterprise Data Transformation initiatives within large-scale financial services organizations.
  • Python / Pyspark Expertise
  • Strong knowledge of the EIM and Issue Management domain, including CAPs, Exceptions, Milestones, and the end-to-end issue management lifecycle and workflows.
  • Proven leadership in delivering enterprise-wide data transformation and modernization programs, including new data application design, ETL and platform migrations, historical data migration automation, large-scale consumer onboarding, and platform performance optimization.
  • Strong expertise in leading large-scale Data Engineering organizations and delivering enterprise data platforms, with deep experience in Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, ETL processing, data ingestion, reporting, enterprise data distribution, Data Quality, Data Governance, Security, Entitlements, and Internal Audit frameworks.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases and database design.
  • Demonstrated expertise in defining target-state architecture, transformation strategy, technology roadmaps, and delivery governance for complex data modernization programs.
  • Proven ability to lead operational support, platform stability, service management, and large-scale transformation initiatives simultaneously while maintaining delivery excellence.
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management, executive communications, governance, and influencing senior business and technology leaders, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with performance tuning and load window optimization.
  • Excellent leadership, program management, problem-solving, communication, and people management skills, with a proven track record of building trusted relationships across business and technology organizations.
  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly and work effectively both independently and within cross-functional global teams.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree In Information Technology / Computer science
  • Master’s degree preferred
