Job summary

Amazon Science is seeking experts to build large-scale forecasting and optimization systems powering Amazon's global transportation network. You will guide model design across tree-based, deep learning, LLM, and RL techniques, ensuring production-readiness and scalability, while partnering with Product, Operations, and Engineering leaders to drive proactive decisions.

Key job responsibilities

• Guide model and system design across a range of techniques, including tree-based models, deep learning (LSTMs, transformers), LLMs, and reinforcement learning.
• Ensure models are production-ready, scalable, and robust through close partnership with stakeholders.
• Partner with Product, Operations, and Engineering leaders to enable proactive decision-making and corrective actions.

4 Own end-to-end business metrics, directly influencing customer experience, cost optimization, and network reliability.

• Help contribute to the broader ML community through publications, conference submissions, and internal knowledge sharing.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code
• Have publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
