Job summary

InCommon is hiring on behalf of a US-based B2B SaaS company building financial infrastructure for the automotive retail industry. We’re looking for an Applied AI Engineer who is an engineer first and has gone deep into LLMs, someone who enjoys taking AI from an idea to a real production feature used by customers.

This is one of the first AI hires in the India team, so you’ll have significant ownership and the opportunity to shape how AI is built into the product.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building and shipping production software.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs/GenAI in production.
• Experience with RAG, tool/function calling, structured outputs and AI agents.
• Experience with LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Pydantic AI or similar.
• Experience building LLM evaluation/eval frameworks.
• Good understanding of SQL and data-heavy systems.
• Comfortable with TypeScript/React.
• Strong product mindset and ability to work independently.
• Experience in fintech, accounting, reconciliation, ERP or automotive tech.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship LLM-powered features and AI agents for real-world workflows.
• Build agentic workflows using tool calling, RAG, outputs and APIs.
• Own AI evaluations - define datasets, measure quality and improve reliability.
• Build production systems with guardrails, validation, monitoring and fallbacks.
• Work across the stack, including Python, TypeScript and React.
• Collaborate with US-based product and engineering teams to understand user problems and build practical solutions.

Their platform helps dealerships automate complex financial operations such as reconciliation, financial data processing, exception handling and month-end close.

Think of it as using software and AI to eliminate the manual work involved in making sure a dealership's financial data is accurate, reconciled and audit-ready.

What you'll do

• Build and ship LLM-powered features and AI agents for real-world business workflows.
• Build agentic workflows using tool calling, RAG, structured outputs and APIs.
