Job Description

Our business has very high growth in TI and is in a segment where the market is fast growing. We're searching for an applications engineer who has the passion and excitement to grow, innovate, take an active role in product definition, execute the characterization until ramp, and provide post‑ramp application support to customers.

Responsibilities
  • Support customers to design with TI's RF clock synthesizers, buffers and oscillators for their applications by providing technical support, trainings as required, explaining and interpreting device datasheets, reviewing their design and helping them get started with TI solutions (EVM, chipset, and tools).
  • Schematic and layout review of customer applications.
  • Troubleshoot customer hardware, firmware and system‑related issues. Debugging of customer problems by re‑creating issues in our evaluation boards and/or customer boards.
  • On‑site support for customer boards as required.
  • Design hardware boards (evaluation boards, reference designs related to clocking products) and internal evaluation boards to support correlation and evaluation activities of new products.
  • Create user guides, test procedures and properly release EVM boards for customer consumption.
  • Participate in datasheet review with the team to ensure completeness of datasheets being developed by the systems engineer.
  • Perform bench characterization for RF clocking devices, including bench automation, hardware design, and development of test techniques.
  • Participate in new silicon testing from an application perspective to ensure robustness of the product.
  • Work with systems engineers to provide support to early‑design activities for new products.
  • Create custom reference designs targeting relevant applications to be used as customer implementation ideas.
  • Write application notes that explain different use cases, implementation, and/or flexibility of our products.
  • Lead and support whole product launch activities. Work closely with marketing, program management, engineering, systems, and validation teams for execution and launch of new products/existing product enhancements.
  • Work with systems and marketing to enable proof‑of‑concept demonstrations.
  • Understand customer development timelines and enable timely support from TI.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, or related field.
  • 2‑6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in hardware board design; schematic capture with any PCB design software.
  • Solid hardware debugging skills.
  • Strong technical background, with the ability to produce high‑quality technical documentation.
  • System‑level board design expertise.
  • Expertise in technical documentation including EVM user’s guide, application notes, design notes and white papers.
  • Good understanding of customer development timelines.
  • Schematic and layout review of customer applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of clock buffers, clock synthesizers, analog and digital PLLs, oscillators, and RF products.
  • Knowledge of Python scripts, C programming, and GUI tool development provides additional benefit.
  • Familiarity with signal integrity analysis, power integrity analysis, and EMI/EMC considerations in PCB design.
  • Familiarity with the use of all necessary lab equipment: oscilloscope, power supplies, gain/phase analyzers, multimeters, solder stations, etc.
  • Experience with hardware/software integration, board bring‑up, and debugging.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
  • Strong time‑management skills that enable on‑time project delivery.
