Job summary

Citi in Pune is seeking an experienced Java and Cloud Technologies professional to lead development of robust, scalable applications. The role involves frontend integration with HTML/CSS/JS, backend design with Java/Spring Boot, and assembling microservices and APIs for seamless data flow.

The candidate should have strong problem-solving abilities, experience with Git and SQL databases, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience on Java and Cloud Technologies.
• Frontend technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (Angular, React).
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and related backend technologies.
• Experience designing and developing Microservices and APIs, integrating with third-party services.
• Experience in trunk-based development using Git and database design including SQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and implement new or revised applications to meet business needs.
• Monitor and control all phases of development, analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation; provide user and operational support.
• Analyze complex problems, evaluate business processes and industry standards, and provide evaluative judgment.
• Recommend and develop security measures in post-implementation analysis to ensure system design and functionality.
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues and install/adapt customer exposure systems.
• Ensure procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
• Operate with limited supervision and demonstrate independence.
• Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or team members.
• Escalate and manage risk with compliance and ethical judgement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
• Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
• Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
• Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience on Java and Cloud Technologies, working on significant distributed midrange application Development.
• Proven expertise in frontend technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React).
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and related backend technologies for building robust and scalable applications.
• Experience designing and developing Microservices and APIs, integrating with third-party services, and ensuring seamless data flow between frontend and backend systems.
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects and Proficiency in Trunk-Based Development using Git and experience with database design and development, including SQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
