Job summary

AutoZone is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to develop, maintain, and support its hardware, software, and network applications. This role ensures system integrity, supports customers, and trains as required.

You will work across UNIX/Linux, Windows, and database environments, monitor performance, and implement automation to scale sites. 4–5 years of experience in retail tech or similar is preferred, with strong problem‑solving abilities and an independent work style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is required.
• 4 to 5 years of experience in related roles.
• Experience with UNIX, Linux, Windows, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, DB2/SQL, and APM tools.
• Experience with Java, Spring, and RDBMS is preferred.
• Knowledge of ATG framework and BCC is preferred.
• Knowledge on GCP related technologies is preferred.
• Experience with scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible) and good understanding of Unix/Linux is preferred.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, ELK, APM, etc.) is preferred.
• Solid problem solving, domain technical and analytical skills.
• Ability to perform tasks with little or no technical supervision.

• Participates in any and potentially all roles of the systems support and monitoring. Roles may vary by project and assignment.
• Support new features, scaling, automation and self-healing processes for sites and systems
• Identify and implement configuration changes to improve performance and reliability as necessary.
• Coordinate with product owners and business partners to address the Business problems and document them as needed.
• Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment.
• Identify and eliminate manual and/or inefficient processes through the implementation of innovative technology solutions

Position

Summary

To deliver desired, sustainable business outcomes and assure the integrity and continuity of our systems. This position is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of AutoZone’s hardware, software, and/or network applications. This includes acquiring domain knowledge, growing technical skills, supporting the customers, resolving problems, and training as required. Provide support to sustainable business outcomes and assure the integrity and continuity of our systems.

• Participates in any and potentially all roles of the systems support and monitoring. Roles may vary by project and assignment. This may include but is not limited to maintain software applications and/or subsystems; debug, design, code, test, write specifications, roll-out software, upgrade, and production support.
• Support new features, scaling, automation and self-healing processes for sites and systems
• Identify and implement configuration changes to improve performance and reliability as necessary.
• Coordinate with product owners and business partners to address the Business problems and document them as needed.
• Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment. Continuous learning of AutoZone Culture, Methodology, Architecture, and Software. (Own Professional Development)
• Identify and eliminate manual and/or inefficient processes through the implementation of innovative technology solutions
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required
• Experience in the Retail Industry developing and maintaining applications is desired.
• Requires 4 to 5 years of experience based on consistently demonstrated capabilities.
• Utilizing UNIX, Linux, Windows, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, DB2/SQL and APM tools to monitor and support the application.
• Experience in JAVA, spring, RDBMS is preferred.
• Knowledge of ATG framework and BCC is preferred.
• Knowledge on GCP related technologies is preferred.
• Experience with scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible etc.) and good understanding of Unix/Linux is preferred.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, ELK, APM, etc.) is preferred.
