Job summary

Xylem is seeking qualified engineers to join its global team working on advanced water treatment and processing systems. The role involves designing medium to large-scale process systems, sizing equipment, and preparing cost estimates in collaboration with cross‑functional teams across international projects.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, 3–7 years of relevant experience, and familiarity with P&ID drawings, process flow, and bid documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• 3–7 years in process design, sizing, proposals and costing for medium to large systems.
• Experience with DAF API separators, MBBR and anaerobic systems.
• Knowledge of material selection for vessels, pumps, and other bought-out items.
• Experience reviewing bid specifications and preparing highlighted drawings.
• Ability to develop operation and control philosophy documents.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet schedules.
• Experience in P&ID, process flow diagrams, plant layouts, 2D/3D drawings.
• Knowledge of electromechanical equipment, instruments, and process control.
• Strong team player with client-focused attitude; good communication with international teams.

Academic and Professional Requirements :

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in C hemical /Environmental Engineering from reputed institute.

Minimum 3-7 years related experience in the process design/sizing, proposal, and costing of medium to large-sized systems .

Knowledge in Autodesk 2D/3D design tools will be a plus or wiling to learn.

Knowledge on DAF’s API Separators, MBBR’s and Anaerobic sys t ems.

Knowledge on M aterial selection for vessels, pumps and other bought out items .

Experience on bid specifications review and preparing highlighted drawings (added advantage) .

Knowledge on preparation of Operation and control philosophy documents.

Capable of supporting multiple projects at a time and meet project schedules .

Experience in developing/understanding of process flow diagram and Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID’s), plant layout d r awings, civil/equipment 2D/3D drawings.

Knowledge o n selection o f all types of electromechanical equipment , instruments, and process control requirement .

Positive team and client-focused attitude directed towards delivering quality work on time and within budget.

Exposure to MS Office package for preparing necessary documents, excel files and PPT’s will be an advantage.

Experience in collaborating with international teams towards engineering design will be an advantage.

Effective communication skills to liaise with international teams; Extra miler / self-driven to meet the commitments / goals. Be analytical and problem solving.
