Job summary

Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. (MPS) is seeking an application/system engineer to debug customer schematic or board issues, replicate problems on a bench, and deliver tested solutions with reports. You will train and support field teams while coordinating with design and marketing for power delivery architectures.

The role involves hands-on lab work, multi-phase power designs, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to push new products and resolve field challenges.

Qualifications

• BE or higher with 5+ years of hands-on experience in switch mode power supply designs especially in multi-phase core power design.
• Familiar with lab tools like oscilloscope, DMM, power supplies, e-loads, function Generator etc.
• Prior work experience in high power/high current multi-phase products is highly preferred, proven problem-solving capability.
• Experience with simulation tool like Simplis is preferred and Experience in PCB design/layout is needed.

Job Description

This position is for application/system engineering. Responsibilities include debugging customer schematic or boards issues, duplicating the same issue on bench test and providing solutions with appropriate test report and providing technical training.

Essential Functions

• Work with design engineers, Field applications team, and marketing team to support products power solutions for CPU, GPU, FGPA etc.
• Hands-on lab bench evaluations, system and board level debugging and prototype demonstrations.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support existing products and drive new product development.

Qualifications / Requirements

Education: BE or higher with 5+ years of hand-on experience in switch mode power supply designs especially in multi-phase core power design.

Familiar with lab tools like oscilloscope, DMM, power supplies, e-loads, function Generator etc. Prior work experience in high power/high current multi-phase products is highly preferred, proven problem-solving capability. Fluent communication skills in English and Excellent writing and presentation skills. Self-Starter and Self-motivated. Ability to operate under minimum supervision.

Desired Skills

• Experience in I2C, PMBus, SVID, DVID, SDLE, VR14.x communication protocol.
• Understanding of most common power supply architecture, and converter control loops operation, The ability to evaluate electronic performance of EVB and customer boards on bench.
• Demonstrated leadership in customer-facing technical support roles.
