Citi in India is seeking an Applications Development professional to contribute to the design and implementation of new or revised application systems in coordination with the Technology team.

The role involves hands-on Java development, collaboration with FX Prime Brokerage teams, and involvement in architecture, testing, and production support to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry.
• Intermediate level experience in applications development.

Responsibilities

• Hands on technical implementation of Prime Brokerage solutions across FX and Equities using cloud-native technologies and CI/CD workflows.
• Drive the design and development of system architecture and collaborate with end-users.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across FX Prime Brokerage trading, Quants and Product teams to understand payments needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Design, development and testing of new features in the applications.
• Continual improvement of the software development lifecycle and product quality.
• 3rd line support of the production system with 24h coverage.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Contribute to defining and implementing best practices and processes.

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Roles & Responsibility

As a Senior Java Engineer, your mission is to help shape our team of innovators and technologists toward creating next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run.

• Hands on technical implementation of Prime Brokerage solutions across FX and Equities using modern, cloud-native technologies and CI/CD workflows, focusing on consolidation, automation, and scalability.
• Drive the design and development of system architecture, work with end-users of the systems, and enhance the quality of deliverables Ensure staff follows Citi documented policy and procedures as well as maintain desktop procedures and supporting documentation for filings on a current basis and in comprehensive manner
• The successful candidate will work with teams across FX Technology implement solutions that benefit the business
• Collaborate with stakeholders across FX Prime Brokerage trading , Quants and Product team to understand Payments needs, translate them into impactful data-driven solutions, and deliver these in partnership with technology.
• Design, Development, Testing of new features in the applications.
• Continual improvement of the software development lifecycle and quality of the product.
• 3rd line support of the production system (dedicated 24h support teams handle 1st / 2nd line).
• Mentoring junior members of the team.
• Contribute to defining and implementing best practices and processes for the department and ensure transparency and consistency across teams

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
• Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision‑making skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
