Job summary

Vishal Mega Mart Limited is seeking a Buyer to execute the seasonal buying strategy for assigned product categories. The role focuses on assortment planning, buy quantity planning, vendor coordination, inventory management, and performance tracking to ensure timely product availability and strong sell-through.

Collaborate with design, sourcing, planning, retail, and VM teams to translate consumer insights into successful product assortments and timely launches.

Responsibilities

• Seasonal Buying & Assortment Planning: develop seasonal assortments, analyze historical sales, market trends, and consumer preferences; coordinate with design, sourcing, planning, and retail teams to translate insights into product assortments.
• Inventory & Stock Optimization: monitor sell-through and identify slow-moving and fast-selling products with corrective actions.
• In-Season Trading & Replenishment: collaborate with Design, Planning, Sourcing, Retail, and VM teams to support launches; align category plans with Buying objectives; ensure adherence to frameworks and procedures.

The Buyer collaborates closely with design, sourcing, planning, and retail teams to translate consumer insights and business requirements into successful product assortments.

Responsibilities:

Seasonal Buying & Assortment Planning

• Support in developing seasonal assortments for assigned categories.
• Analyze historical sales, market trends, and consumer preferences to recommend product selections. Participate in range reviews and assortment finalization activities.
• Coordinate with design, sourcing, and planning teams to track progress and resolve delays. Maintain timely execution of seasonal buying activities.
• Work closely with vendors and sourcing teams to communicate buy quantities and delivery schedules.
• Track purchase orders and ensure adherence to agreed timelines and quality standards. Support vendor performance reviews and follow-up actions.

Inventory & Stock Optimization

• Monitor sell-through performance across categories.
• Identify slow-moving and fast-selling products and recommend corrective actions.

In-Season Trading & Replenishment

• Partner with Design, Planning, Sourcing, Retail, and VM teams to support successful product launches.
• Ensure alignment of category plans with the Buying objectives.
• Ensure compliance with established buying frameworks and operating procedures.

Qualifications:

Graduate or Post Graduate from NIFT

Experience:

2 to 6 years of work experience with relevant experience in Buying/ Category management
