Job summary

GE Vernova in Chennai seeks a seasoned Project Planner to drive scheduling and control across APAC projects. You will translate scope into integrated, resource-loaded plans for engineering, procurement, and construction teams, keeping milestones and baselines on track.

You will develop look-ahead and recovery plans, produce S-curves and dashboards, and provide timely reports to support project reviews. A strong background in EPC/industrial settings and advanced scheduling tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (EEE/Mech) from an accredited college or university.
• 10+ years in project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring in industrial/EPC environments.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Ability to develop, interpret, and analyze project schedules and progress trends.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills (S-curves, dashboards, milestone reports).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with scope, milestones, and contractual requirements.
• Monitor progress against schedules, identify critical path impacts and schedule slippages, and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, site teams to gather progress updates and maintain schedules.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules, catch-up plans, and recovery schedules; forecast completion timelines and risks.
• Generate progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, and milestone tracking for reviews and decisions.
• Maintain planning records and project control documentation per company procedures.

As a Project Planner at GE Vernova, you will be at the heart of project execution across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, turning project scope into structured schedules that engineering, procurement, and construction teams can actually work to. Your planning keeps projects moving, risks visible, and decisions well-informed.

Job Description Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with scope, milestones, and contractual requirements, including baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), activity sequencing, and resource-loaded plans.
• Monitor project progress against planned schedules, identify critical path impacts and schedule slippages, and recommend corrective and recovery actions.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, site execution, and commissioning teams to gather progress updates and maintain accurate, current schedules.
• Prepare look-ahead schedules, catch-up plans, and recovery schedules; support project management in forecasting completion timelines and surfacing planning-related risks.
• Generate periodic progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, and milestone tracking reports to support project review meetings and decision-making.
• Maintain planning records, schedule revisions, and project control documentation in compliance with company procedures.

About You

You are a detail-oriented project planning professional with a strong background in schedule development and control within complex, multi-discipline project environments.

Required

• Required Bachelor of Engineering (EEE/Mech) from an accredited College or University
• 10+ years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring within industrial, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), energy, or infrastructure environments
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
• Demonstrated ability to develop, interpret, and analyze project schedules, critical paths, and progress trends
• Strong analytical and reporting skills with experience producing S-curves, dashboards, and milestone reports

Preferred

• Prior experience on large-scale EPC or energy sector projects across the full engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning lifecycle
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent project schedules in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
