Job summary

ITproposal is seeking an experienced Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer for Break & Fix support across enterprise environments in India. This freelance, on-call role requires diagnosing and resolving hardware, network, and infra incidents with a strong customer-facing approach.

The ideal candidate holds Nutanix skills (AOS/AHV/Prism), CCNA certification, and excellent English communication. Will cover all cities in India with onsite and remote support available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in infrastructure, virtualization, networking, or IT support engineering.
• Strong hands-on Nutanix experience (AOS/AHV/Prism) in enterprise environments.
• Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V environments.
• Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP).
• CCNA Certification mandatory; Nutanix Certification a plus.
• Scripting familiarity with PowerShell and Python advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote Break & Fix support for networking and infra incidents.
• Deploy, configure, and manage Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Perform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management tasks.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, virtualization, and network issues.
• Diagnose network connectivity issues (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP).
• Support backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Respond to incidents within defined response times.
• Collaborate with global teams on infra and cloud projects.
• Maintain accurate incident reports and service records.
• Interact professionally with end users and customers.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer to provide Break & Fix support services across enterprise infrastructure environments. This freelance, on-call role requires a highly skilled professional who can diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, network, and infrastructure-related incidents efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in Nutanix and networking technologies, hold a valid CCNA certification, and demonstrate excellent communication skills with fluent English proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote Break & Fix support for networking and infrastructure-related incidents.
• Deploy, configure, and manage Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, virtualization, and network issues.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems involving TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and related technologies.
• Implement and support backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Respond to critical incidents and service requests within agreed response times.
• Collaborate with global and regional teams on infrastructure and cloud-related projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, incident reports, and service records.
• Ensure professional interaction with end users, stakeholders, and customers at all times.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, networking, or IT support engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with the Nutanix ecosystem (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Experience supporting VMware and/or Hyper-V environments.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
• Proven experience providing Break & Fix support in enterprise environments.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and networking issues.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Python is advantageous.

Mandatory Requirements

• Valid CCNA Certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

Preferred Qualifications

• Nutanix Certification (NCP or higher).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
