Job summary

Infosys is seeking an experienced automation engineer to design and implement Ansible-based infrastructure automation. The role focuses on building reusable playbooks, roles, and modules, and integrating Ansible with CI/CD pipelines to streamline provisioning and deployment across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will work with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)/Tower, manage credentials and RBAC, and ensure best practices such as idempotency and secure secret handling.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible and automation.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
• Experience with YAML, Jinja2 templating, and Git.
• Understanding of REST APIs and integrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Basic scripting knowledge (Python/Bash/PowerShell).

Responsibilities

• Build and manage Ansible Collections for structured automation.
• Configure AWX/Tower (AAP) for job templates, RBAC, credentials.
• Integrate Ansible into CI/CD pipelines and orchestrate jobs with AAP/Tower.
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, patching, and deployment tasks.
• Work with Ansible Vault/HashiCorp Vault for secret management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities.
• Create documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer sessions.

• Ansible Collections – Build and manage structured, reusable automation components.


• AWX / Ansible Tower (AAP) – Configure job templates, workflows, RBAC, and credentials.


• CI/CD Tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) – Integrate Ansible into automated pipelines.


• Vault Tools (Ansible Vault, HashiCorp Vault) – Secure secrets and sensitive variables.


• Cloud & Platform Modules – Automate AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, Kubernetes resources.


• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules for infrastructure automation


• Automate provisioning, configuration management, patching, and deployment activities


• Work with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) / Tower for job orchestration


• Integrate Ansible with tools like ServiceNow, Splunk, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines


• Design reusable and scalable automation frameworks


• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of automation workflows


• Ensure best practices such as idempotency, error handling, tagging, and version control


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities
