Overview

The Applications Development Senior Supervisor is an intermediate management level position responsible for providing full leadership and direction to a team of employees in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance applications and application features.
• Implement trunk-based development practices to enable continuous integration and rapid delivery.
• Develop clean, maintainable, and testable code following SOLID principles and software design best practices.
• Ensure high levels of unit test coverage, test-driven development (TDD), and behavior-driven development (BDD).
• Actively contribute to hands-on coding, code reviews, and refactoring to maintain high engineering standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning.

Skills and Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of strong hands-on experience in coding Java, multi-threading, REST API, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Kafka, SQL (Oracle), Git.
• Hands-on experience with UI technology like Angular and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with JUnit, Karate Framework, and Cucumber.
• Expertise in design patterns and SOLID design principles.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience conducting code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and secure coding.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, agile environments.
• Knowledge of performance tuning, observability, and production monitoring.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with caching solutions and tooling.
