Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services seeks an experienced Android Developer to join our mobile team in India. You will design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications with Kotlin, focusing on performance, UI quality, and robust integration with backend services.

The ideal candidate has 6–8 years of mobile development, deep knowledge of Android SDK, RESTful APIs, Compose, and CI/CD workflows. You will collaborate across teams to translate business requirements into scalable mobile solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mobile development experience with high expertise in Android platform.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Familiarity with cloud messaging APIs and FCM.
• A talent for benchmarking and optimization.
• Understanding of Googles Android design principles and interface guidelines.
• Knowledge in Git, Team City, JIRA, or any other CI/CD tools be add-on.
• Knowledge in Compose.
