Job summary

Wise is seeking a Senior Analytics Manager to partner with product teams and drive data-led growth while combating financial crime. You will lead a team and collaborate with data scientists, engineering and operations to implement scalable risk controls.

You will be shaping metrics, dashboards and models, ensuring decisions balance user experience with risk management across APAC.

• 5+ years in data analytics, with financial crime or risk analytics focus.

Our mission within the Risk & Controls team in APAC is to stay one step ahead of emerging risk while ensuring that our customers enjoy a seamless experience. In this vital role, you will innovate and implement controls that enhance security without compromising user convenience. Most importantly, you’ll collaborate closely with your product managers, designers, data scientists and engineers to bring your insights into real change for our customers and help drive our mission! Your mission:

• You’ll expose the vast data on our processes to the product teams across Wise in a meaningful and actionable way in which people can proactively access the information without friction or need for analyst assistance
• Proactively contribute to, own, create, track key metrics and results for your product and operational teams, keeping them accountable throughout the quarter
• Support stakeholders by conducting research, preparing reports, and visualisations
• Work with data scientists in understanding and developing the means for detecting and mitigating financial crime
• Building the framework for managing risk and customer experience at scale
• Drive the discovery phase by scoping new opportunities and suggesting features, rules and models to combat emerging risks

The role requires collaboration with Product, Data Scientists, Engineering and Operations Team

This role will give you the opportunity to:

• Lead and develop a team of 3 analysts: helping them to set priorities, coaching for impact, and maintaining quality standards

Qualifications A bit about you:

• You have strong quantitative skills. Ideally a background in statistics, maths, physics, engineering, or other scientific area
• You have experience in financial crime domain (typologies and alert investigations) balancing risk and customer experience
• You have 5 years of experience in data analytics (in financial crime or risk analytics) and 2 years leading others (can be overlapping)
• You have experience with SQL and Python/R
• You have strong communication skills and an ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions
• You have an ability to structure business problems with minimal supervision and an ability to prioritise problems independently, as well as condense complex systems/ideas into simple-to-understand data models
• Hustler-mentality. You can take work beyond the analysis and get things done
• You have experience with data visualisation tools (Looker, PowerBI, Tableau etc.) and demonstrate storytelling ability with data

Some extra skills that are great (but not essential):

• Experience with user-facing products and data
• Machine learning experience
• Knowledge of regulations, sanctions compliance, and financial crime frameworks
• Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and compliance standards
• Knowledge of A/B testing
