Job summary

DAZN in Hyderabad is hiring an Analytics Engineer to bridge data engineering and analytics. You will build scalable data models with dbt, write optimized SQL, and develop Python-based data processes.

The role collaborates with product, marketing, finance, and operations to deliver trusted data for decisions. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in related roles, strong SQL/Python skills, and experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Data Build Tool).
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, performance optimization, and data modeling.
• Strong programming experience in Python for data analysis, transformation, automation, and orchestration.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing concepts, and analytics engineering principles.
• Experience using Git-based development workflows and CI/CD practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models using dbt following best practices such as modularity, testing, documentation, and version control.
• Write complex and optimized SQL transformations to create curated datasets and business metrics.
• Develop and maintain Python scripts and frameworks for data processing, automation, quality validation, and analytics workflows.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to ingest, transform, and manage data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Build and maintain dimensional models, fact tables, and semantic layers that support reporting and self-service analytics.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and testing using dbt tests and custom validation frameworks.
• Work closely with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Operations stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Optimize data pipelines and transformation processes for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, data lineage, and metadata standards.
• Support BI and reporting tools by delivering clean, governed, and trusted datasets.

Role Overview: DAZN is seeking a highly motivated Analytics Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team. This role bridges the gap between Data Engineering and Analytics, enabling trusted, scalable, and business-ready data products that support decision-making across product, marketing, commercial, finance, and customer experience functions.
