Job description

Position Summary

WJCF is looking to hire an Analyst to support the design and implementation of the presbyopia program across 8 districts of Chhattisgarh. The position is based in Raipur and provides analytical and technical support to programme implementation across the state. The role requires strong proficiency in development of data collection and monitoring evaluation tools to guide programmatic reviews and to drive evidence-based decision-making. The analyst will be supporting the development of eye screening protocols and training material for healthcare workers and will be assisting in crafting supply chain management plan for near-vision glasses and other commodities. We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual with outstanding problem-solving and communication skills. The candidate must be able to function independently and have a strong commitment to excellence. WJCF places great value on relevant personal qualities: resourcefulness, humility, responsibility, accountability, tenacity, independence, energy, and attention to detail.

Project Background

The William J. Clinton Foundation (WJCF) aims to strengthen the public health system s readiness and capacity to expand access to presbyopia care by integrating eye screening and on-site dispensation of near vision glasses within primary healthcare settings. To advance this objective, WJCF is planning to implement decentralized presbyopia care across 8 districts of Chhattisgarh. The project will focus on generating operational learnings, implementation insights, and evidence-based approaches that can inform scalable models for state-wide adoption. As part of the initiative, WJCF will support the capacity building of healthcare workers-including primary-level staff and frontline health workers-on presbyopia identification, screening protocols, counselling, and referral pathways, thereby strengthening the delivery of comprehensive eye-care services at the primary-care level. These efforts will be complemented by community engagement and awareness activities designed to improve understanding of presbyopia, encourage timely care-seeking, and enhance the uptake of near-vision correction and comprehensive eye care.

Programme Overview

Presbyopia is an age-related condition characterized by the gradual loss of the ability to see objects clearly up close that affects over one billion people globally. It is estimated that approximately 150 million live with uncorrected presbyopia in India. When unaddressed, presbyopia severely impacts daily life and job performance, particularly in occupations requiring clear near vision. Unaddressed presbyopia is estimated to adversely impact Indias GDP by billion annually. Presbyopia can be corrected with near vision glasses (also known as reading glasses) which has shown to increase income by 28% and productivity by 30%.

Responsibilities
  • Develop operational plans, supervise the field team, and manage day-to-day program implementation.
  • Lead the development and rollout of data reporting and monitoring evaluation tools to track program progress.
  • Analyze facility- and community-level datasets and generate insights to inform program reviews and decision-making.
  • Support development of training materials and eye-screening protocols for healthcare worker training.
  • Support design of referral mechanisms from NCD clinics to presbyopia screening services, including development of referral protocols, tracking tools, and integration pathways within existing NCD clinic workflows.
  • Assist in designing forecasting, inventory management, and stock monitoring tools and dashboards to ensure uninterrupted supply of required commodities.
  • Prepare documentation materials such as reports, presentations, and briefs to update government, donor, and other stakeholders on program progress.
  • Travel at short notice to project districts across Chhattisgarh and to national destinations, as required.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by program leadership.
Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft office applications and visualization survey tools.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated ability to work independently on complex projects and solve challenging problems, in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
