Job summary

A laboratory services provider in Maharashtra is seeking an experienced analytical chemist to conduct routine and non-routine sample analyses using LC/LCMS instruments. Job description

Key Responsibilities
Analytical Operations
  • Perform routine and non-routine sample analysis using LC/LCMS instruments as per approved test methods and within defined turnaround time (TAT).
  • Ensure accuracy, precision, and reproducibility of analytical results.
  • Conduct review and verification of analytical data generated by junior analysts or trainees, including calibration, sample preparation, and instrument performance.
  • Validate analytical results and ensure their proper entry and approval in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) / Sample Management Software.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain and update all relevant records, worksheets, and logbooks in compliance with ISO 17025, GLP, and other quality management standards.
  • Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), test methods, and related documentation; communicate any revisions or improvements to the Quality Assurance (QA) team.
  • Record and close non-conformances, deviations, and out-of-specification (OOS) incidents as per internal procedures.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by providing technical information and necessary documentation.
Instrument Maintenance & Calibration
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, calibration, and performance verification of LC/LCMS and associated sample preparation instruments.
  • Coordinate with service engineers for scheduled and breakdown maintenance; ensure instrument uptime and maintain service records.
  • Conduct in-house performance checks, calibration verifications, and maintain traceable calibration records.
Standards & Inventory Management
  • Prepare, maintain, and monitor Certified Reference Materials (CRMs), Standard Reference Materials (SRMs), and working standards; ensure validity and timely replenishment.
  • Perform intermediate checks and trend analysis of CRMs/SRMs; report deviations to the Lab Manager or QA.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of chemicals, solvents, glassware, consumables, and instrument spare parts; ensure timely procurement and quality verification.
Training & Supervision
  • Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to junior analysts and trainees on analytical techniques, instrument operation, troubleshooting, and good documentation practices.
  • Promote adherence to laboratory safety standards and 5S workplace organization principles.
Method Development & Validation
  • Support method development, optimization, and in-house validation of analytical methods as per regulatory and client requirements (ICH, AOAC, USP, etc.).
  • Maintain detailed records of validation data and performance parameters.
Qualification & Experience
  • Education: M.Sc. / B.Tech. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry , or related discipline.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in LC/LCMS analysis in a testing or regulated laboratory environment (pharma, food, environment, or contract research).
