Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an Analog Circuit Engineer to design high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits for advanced semiconductor products. You will contribute to transistor-level design, simulations and optimization, collaborating with layout, verification, and system teams to ensure seamless integration and robust performance.

The role involves silicon bring-up, characterization, and documentation, with opportunities to work on challenging projects in a global technology environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, VLSI, or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in analog circuit design and CMOS physics.
• Hands-on experience with analog/mixed-signal design and verification.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analog and mixed-signal circuits (amplifiers, LDOs, PLLs, ADCs/DACs, SerDes, power blocks).
• Conduct transistor-level design, simulations, and optimization against targets.
• Perform schematic entry, pre/post-layout analyses and corner/Monte Carlo/noise studies.
• Collaborate with layout, verification, digital and system teams for integration.
• Support silicon bring-up, characterization, debugging and lab validation.
• Prepare design documentation and technical review reports.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and project timelines.

Overview of the Role

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Design and develop analog and mixed-signal circuits, including amplifiers, comparators, bandgap references, LDOs, PLLs, ADC/DAC, SerDes, and power management blocks.
• Perform transistor-level circuit design, simulation, and optimization to meet performance, power, area, and reliability targets.
• Conduct schematic entry, pre-layout and post-layout simulations, and perform analyses such as corner, Monte Carlo, noise, mismatch, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with layout engineers to ensure robust layout implementation and resolve any layout-related issues.
• Work in partnership with verification, digital, and system teams to guarantee seamless integration of analog blocks within larger systems.
• Participate in silicon bring-up, characterization, debugging, and lab validation processes.
• Prepare comprehensive design documentation and technical review reports.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and project timelines.

Skill Requirements:

• Strong understanding of analog circuit fundamentals and CMOS device physics.
• Hands-on experience in analog/mixed-signal circuit design.
• Proven expertise in at least one of the following domains: high-speed analog design, PLL/clocking circuits, SerDes, ADC/DAC, power management/LDO/bandgap, or data converters.
• Proficiency with EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, ADE, HSPICE, or similar platforms.
• Solid knowledge of pre-layout and post-layout simulation methodologies.
• Experience with deep sub-micron technology nodes (28nm / 16nm / 7nm or below) is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Skill, Perl, Python, Tcl) is an added advantage.
• Bachelors or Masters degree (BE/BTech/ME/MTech) in Electronics, VLSI, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Exposure to silicon validation and debugging processes.
• Customer-facing experience and participation in technical discussions.
