Join us on our mission to once again revolutionize the way the world shops. We are the Amazon Physical Stores Technical Operations team, responsible for launching and operating the commerce software services which run stores like Amazon Go, Amazon Books, Amazon 4-star, Amazon Fresh, and Amazon Pop-Up. Amazon Go, with its Just Walk Out technology, is already a game-changer for retail, and we’re just getting started.
Our approach to problems is entrepreneurial. You will be challenged to invent, create, and solve challenging problems as well as wear many hats and collaborate in an environment that’s more startup than big company. You will need a strong ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
As a Network Development Engineer, you will:
Understanding how systems, services, and protocols all work together and how to scale these environments to a massive scale while driving automation will provide all the challenges you could hope for. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems that may have never existed.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelor’s degree.
• 3+ years professional experience working in large scale networking environments.
• Experience with internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF.
• Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and JUNOS.
• Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills specifically in network performance analysis.
• Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem, and work toward resolution.
• Experience with Linux-based network operating systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role.
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
