Job summary

HSBC Software Development India seeks an Associate Director, Data and Analytics Specialist to lead end-to-end data and analytics initiatives. You will design enterprise-grade full-stack applications with Python back-end and React front-end, and deploy AI/ML solutions on GCP.

You'll collaborate with Data Engineers, Scientists and Risk teams, drive code quality, testing, and regulatory alignment while working in an Agile delivery environment.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on enterprise software development with emphasis on full-stack engineering.
• Expert Python for backend and React JS/TypeScript for frontend.
• Experience deploying on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with Cloud Run/Functions/GKE/BigQuery.
• Hands-on AI/ML in production with TensorFlow, PyTorch or scikit-learn and MLOps.
• Knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, GraphQL, SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Solid software design, patterns, cloud-native apps, and testing practices.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Data and Analytics Specialist

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop and implement enterprise-grade full-stack applications using Python for backend services and React JS for frontend development, following coding standards and engineering best practices.
• Build and deploy AI/ML solutions in production environments to strengthen data controls, quality checks and risk detection across enterprise metadata and data management platforms.
• Develop scalable microservices, RESTful APIs and event-driven solutions using Python frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI or Django, integrated with GCP services.
• Create responsive, performant and user-friendly frontend applications using React JS, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern UI development practices.
• Work within Agile delivery teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and iterative delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, Risk and Data Governance teams to deliver end-to-end technology solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and ensure strong standards for code quality, documentation, maintainability and automated testing.
• Support regulatory and control-focused initiatives by delivering solutions aligned to enterprise data management objectives and compliance requirements such as BCBS 239, IRR and related frameworks.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience in enterprise software development with significant focus on full-stack engineering.
• Expert proficiency in Python for backend development and strong expertise in React JS, JavaScript and/or TypeScript for frontend engineering.
• Proven experience building and deploying applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GKE, BigQuery, Cloud Storage and Pub/Sub.
• Good hands-on experience implementing AI/ML solutions in production using frameworks/tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or scikit-learn, with understanding of MLOps practices.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, GraphQL, event-driven systems, and experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Solid knowledge of software design principles, design patterns, clean code practices and cloud-native application development.
• Experience with DevOps and engineering practices including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and testing frameworks such as Pytest and Jest.
• Strong collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills, with experience working effectively in Agile teams and delivering high-quality code and automated test cases.
