Job summary

Mea Platform in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Senior AI Prompt Lead to manage a cross-functional team of prompt engineers and developers. Senior Support Engineer: Job Overview

Job Overview

We're looking for an AI Prompt Lead to manage a cross-functional team of prompt engineers and developers (senior and junior) delivering AI-powered products and solutions for clients. This role is ideal for someone who understands AI/LLM workflows well enough to guide technical decisions, but whose core strength is team leadership, stakeholder management, and client communication. You'll act as the bridge between our technical team and clients/stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on time, expectations are managed well, and the team stays productive and unblocked.

Key responsibilities

Prompt Engineering & AI Workflows

• Design, develop, and optimize prompts for LLM-based workflows (extraction, QA, validation)
• Build field-level extraction logic across complex documents (PDFs, emails, Excel, SOVs, loss runs, etc.)
• Analyze model outputs to identify failure patterns, edge cases, and inconsistencies
• Continuously improve prompt accuracy through iterative testing and refinement
• Support confidence calibration and validation logic for extracted data
• Build and maintain reusable prompt templates and libraries
• Work with structured outputs (JSON, tables, schemas)
• Integrate feedback loops (human-in-the-loop corrections, RLAIF)
• Document prompt strategies, assumptions, and improvement rationale

Team & Delivery Leadership

• Lead a team of prompt/AI engineers to deliver projects on schedule and to quality expectations
• Manage task assignments, workload balancing, and resource planning
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define priorities and resolve operational challenges
• Drive process optimization and continuous improvement across the team's workflows
• Mentor team members and support their technical growth

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with domain experts to translate insurance/underwriting business context into extraction logic
• Work closely with AI engineers and product teams to align on requirements and outcomes
• Clearly communicate issues, findings, and improvement recommendations to stakeholders

Must-Have Qualifications

Domain

• Demonstrated experience in Insurance & Underwriting

Technical

• Strong understanding of LLMs and prompt engineering concepts
• Hands-on experience with JSON, structured outputs, and schema-driven extraction
• Strong analytical skills to debug and interpret model outputs
• Familiarity with prompt chaining, context management, and few-shot/zeroshot techniques

Leadership & Deliver

• 5+ years of experience, including proven experience leading a team to deliver projects on schedule and quality
• Experience managing task assignments, workload balancing, and resource planning
• Track record of mentoring team members and supporting their professional growth
  

Problem-Solving & Thinking

• Ability to break down ambiguous requirements into structured logic
• Strong attention to detail — critical for extraction accuracy
• Pattern recognition across varied document formats
• Ability to handle edge cases and exceptions systematically

Communication & Collaboration

• Clear, structured communication of issues, findings, and improvements
• Comfortable working across AI engineers, domain experts, and product teams
• Strong documentation habits for prompt strategies and learnings

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar orchestration frameworks
• Basic Python knowledge (for testing/scripting)
• Exposure to document processing (OCR, PDF parsing, etc.)
• Familiarity with evaluation metrics (accuracy, precision, recall, confidence scoring)
• Experience with annotation/labeling tools
