Job Overview
Assistant Vice President – AI Governance (AVP). The role supports the development, implementation and maintenance of AIML policies and standards, the AI inventory, oversight of AI risk tiering, coordination of cross‑functional AI risk assessments, supports generative AI proof‑of‑concepts, and governance. The position is based in our Noida office.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and enhancement of the AIML operating model programme.
- Maintain and support the adoption of AIML policies and standards across the organisation.
- Create and maintain the AIML system inventory.
- Coordinate comprehensive AI risk assessments and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Governance of AIML risks, including attendance at forums and working groups.
- Provide end‑to‑end support for generative AI proof‑of‑concepts, from use‑case intake and review to final approval.
- Monitor AI systems to ensure operation within effective guardrails and controls.
- Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop and conduct training programmes to educate employees globally on governance and ethical use of AI.
- Continuously enhance the bank’s AI governance framework through engagement with AI technology and governance advances.

- Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with other functions and business divisions.
- Lead a team performing complex tasks, setting objectives, coaching employees, and determining reward outcomes.

- Consult on complex issues, providing advice to People Leaders to support resolution of escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures to strengthen control and governance.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources and communicate complex information to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a financial or technical field.
- Demonstrated experience in oversight and governance of AI/ML models at an enterprise level.
- Proven ability to implement and oversee governance frameworks and policies.
- Investigative skills to identify key risks, non‑conformance with regulatory and legislative requirements, root causes, themes and trends.
- Familiarity with key regulatory frameworks and standards relevant to AI use in the financial industry (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST guidelines).
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, proven in complex and dynamic settings.
- Innovative mindset, capable of proposing effective solutions to control issues identified.
- Ability to produce high‑quality documents, presentation slides and training materials for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience in AI or model risk management, model validation, and monitoring.
- Deep understanding of AI/ML technology, risks, benefits, ethical implications and responsible AI practices.
- Prior experience in conformance or related functions and understanding of control testing.
- Ability to work in a high‑performing team and liaise with diverse stakeholders.
Desired Skills
- Postgraduate degree in a financial or technical field (highly valued).
- Experience in business, risk and technical acumen in AI or governance.
- Knowledge of AI ethics, bias detection and responsible AI practices.
- Strategic thinking, change and transformation capability, and a strong digital and technology focus.
