Job summary

Digital.ai in Chennai seeks an AI – Forward Deployed Engineer to architect and deploy AI-powered solutions across the SDLC. You will work on LLM-driven applications, AI agents, and integration with enterprise platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on Python/TypeScript development, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and building scalable AI services with secure data pipelines. Global time zones and on-site/remote options are mentioned.

Qualifications

• Experience in building AI applications with LLMs via APIs and SDKs.
• Designing and building AI Agents with multi-step reasoning, planning, tool use, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Experience creating AI Skills and reusable agent capabilities (Claude Skills, custom tools, function calling).
• Knowledge of Spec Driven Development will be an added advantage.
• Expertise in prompt engineering and context engineering (system prompts, few-shot, structured outputs).
• Hands-on with RAG pipelines: embeddings, vector databases, retrieval, and reranking.
• Experience with Claude Agent SDK and MCP integrations.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol and tool/connector integrations.

Required Skills

Experience in application/product development with:

Core AI/LLM Skills

• Strong hands-on experience building applications with LLMs (Claude, GPT, Gemini, open-source models) via APIs and SDKs
• Proven experience designing and building AI Agents, including multi-step reasoning, planning, tool use, and multi-agent orchestration
• Experience creating AI Skills and reusable agent capabilities (Claude Skills, custom tools, function calling, MCP servers)
• Knowledge of Spec Driven Development will be an added advantage
• Expertise in prompt engineering and context engineering (system prompts, few-shot, structured outputs, prompt chaining, context window management)
• Hands-on with RAG pipelines: embeddings, vector databases, chunking, retrieval, and reranking
• Experience with agent frameworks such as the Claude Agent SDK
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and tool/connector integrations

Engineering Skills

• Strong Python proficiency (TypeScript/Node.js a plus)
• Solid software engineering fundamentals: APIs (REST), async programming, testing, Git, CI/CD
• Experience building and deploying production-grade AI services (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data pipelines
