Job summary

AMETEK Inc. in Bengaluru is seeking an Engineer/Developer - AI for early-career professionals. You will design, develop and test AI solutions, with emphasis on Python components, data prep, and RAG pipelines, while maintaining clear documentation and collaboration with the AI team.

You will learn the team’s tools, coding standards and engineering context, while contributing to governance, security, and IP policies across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML or related engineering discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience including internships or projects in AI/ML.
• Working proficiency in Python; basic understanding of ML and LLM concepts.
• Exposure to Generative AI or RAG through projects or coursework.

Responsibilities

• Implement well-defined Python components such as data preparation, document-processing pipelines, RAG components, prompts, scripts and APIs.
• Support testing and evaluation of solutions and document results, code and setup clearly.
• Update Technical Lead on task progress and maintain records of test results and issues.
• Collaborate with AI team to understand needs and ensure governance and security compliance.

The Engineer /Developer - AI is an early-career engineer who supports the design, development and testing of AI solutions for AMETEK India Engineering and its Business Units. The role suits a keen learner who adapts quickly to a new working environment, builds a solid understanding of AMETEK products and engineering workflows, and grows into independent delivery of assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Development and Support

• Implement well-defined components in Python, such as data preparation, document-processing pipelines, RAG components, prompts, scripts and APIs.
• Support testing and evaluation of solutions, and document results, code and setup clearly.

Learning and Adaptation

• Quickly learn the team’s tools, platforms, coding standards and engineering domain context.
• Technology awareness: explore the latest AI tools and techniques and share useful findings with the team.
• Seek and act on feedback from reviews; use version control and team practices consistently.

Collaboration and Compliance

• Work with the Technical Lead - AI and BU engineers to understand needs and support user testing and feedback.
• Ensure compliance with applicable AMETEK IT policies, security requirements and governance processes, including data-classification, export-control and customer-IP requirements.

Reporting

• Update the Technical Lead - AI on task progress at pre-defined intervals, and raise blockers early.
• Maintain clear records of test results and issues to support KPI and dashboard reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML or a related engineering discipline.
• 0 to 2 years of experience, including internships, academic or personal projects in AI/ML.
• Working proficiency in Python; basic understanding of machine learning and LLM concepts.
• Exposure to Generative AI or RAG through projects, coursework or self-learning is an advantage.
