Job summary

BMC Software is seeking a Technical Solutions Specialist to join our AI & Automation team in a hybrid role in India. You will design, build, and run GenAI and automation solutions for internal enterprise teams, writing code in Python/TypeScript and building front-end components with React.

You’ll work across Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and cloud services (Azure/AWS) to deliver enterprise-grade solutions, following governance, security, and change-control processes.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of hands-on software or automation delivery experience.
• Strong coding skills in Python and/or TypeScript (JavaScript).
• Experience calling or building around LLM APIs.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud — Azure or AWS.
• Experience building GenAI solutions in production.
• Practical understanding of RAG: embeddings, vector databases, chunking strategies, retrieval quality.
• Experience with React or a similar modern front-end framework.
• Familiarity with Copilot Studio and Power Platform (Power Automate, Dataverse).

We’re hiring a Technical Solutions Specialist (TSS) to join our AI & Automation team. You’ll take solution ideas from 0 to N — designing, building, and running GenAI and automation solutions that solve real business problems for internal enterprise consumption.

This is a hands‑on technical role within our IT function. Everything we build is for internal business teams. You’ll write code, build agents, integrate systems, and work closely with cross‑functional teams. You should be comfortable operating in an environment with clear segregation of duties, where influence and collaboration matter as much as technical skill.

What You’ll Do

• Build and Deliver AI & Automation Solutions
• Take solution ideas from concept to production — discovery, design, build, deploy, and support.
• Break down messy business problems into structured, testable solutions.
• Build agents on Copilot Studio, automations on Power Platform, and custom services on Azure or AWS.
• Write production code in Python and/or TypeScript; build front‑end components in React where needed.
• Diagnose and fix production issues across APIs, integrations, cloud services, and data flows.

GenAI Engineering

• Build and tune RAG pipelines — chunking, embeddings, vector stores — to improve agent accuracy.
• Handle real‑world GenAI edge cases: token limits, malformed documents, hallucinations, latency, cost.
• Know when GenAI is the right answer and when it isn’t. Pick the right tool for the problem.
• Integrate LLM services responsibly into enterprise workflows with proper guardrails, logging, and fallbacks.

Enterprise-Grade Thinking

• Design with enterprise realities in mind: security, compliance, environment segregation, change control, and auditability.
• Work within a segregation-of-duties model — coordinate with platform, security, and infra teams instead of going around them.
• Contribute to runbooks, deployment docs, and operational playbooks so knowledge isn’t stuck with one person.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work across globally distributed teams. Give clear async updates and come prepared to sync discussions.
• Speak the language of engineering, IT, and business stakeholders — and translate between them.
• Raise risks, blockers, and unknowns early. Don’t let problems surface late.
• Own your workstream end‑to‑end. Ask for help when needed.

Agile & DevOps

• Participate in sprint planning, stand‑ups, and backlog grooming (Jira or equivalent).
• Use Git, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD.
• Do proper local testing and regression checks before handing off to SIT/UAT.

What We’re Looking For

• 4–7 years of hands‑on software or automation delivery experience.
• Strong coding skills in Python and/or TypeScript (JavaScript). Experience calling or building around LLM APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud — Azure or AWS.
• Experience building GenAI solutions in production — not just prototypes or notebooks.
• Practical understanding of RAG: embeddings, vector databases, chunking strategies, retrieval quality.
• Experience with React or a similar modern front‑end framework.
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Platform (Power Automate, Dataverse). Familiarity with Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI, Azure Document Intelligence, or AWS Bedrock equivalents.
• Comfort working in enterprise IT environments with formal change management and cross‑team dependencies.
• Clear communication skills — verbal and written. Able to push back constructively.

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating with enterprise systems (Salesforce, Zuora, SharePoint, etc.).
• Exposure to agentic frameworks and multi‑agent orchestration.
• Awareness of AI governance, security, and compliance practices.
