Job summary

Collinson Group is seeking an AI Engineer to design and deliver AI-powered features, integrating large language models into production systems. You will work on backend services using TypeScript, Node.js and AWS, focusing on reliable APIs, cost efficiency and scalable architectures.

The role requires hands-on engineering, prompt design, and collaboration with product, data and design partners to identify high-value AI opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in software engineering with production-grade systems.
• Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript stacks including Node.js and backend frameworks; write clean, maintainable code.
• Experience integrating large language models into applications using APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic; prompt design and evaluation.
• Design and work with RESTful APIs and backend services for reliability and scale.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments and deployment tooling, preferably AWS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or vector databases for AI use cases.
• Ability to balance cost, latency, privacy and risk in AI-powered systems.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative communication across teams.
• Curiosity, adaptability and willingness to stay current with AI tools and best practices.
