Job summary

NxTreasury Limited seeks a Founding Engineer to own major platform components from an initial design to production. You will build the agent runtime on AWS, model operational data, and create backend services in TypeScript and Python.

You will work directly with the founders and early customers to turn complex processes into reliable automation. Ideal candidates have hands-on AWS experience, strong TypeScript and Python skills, and proficiency with Claude and related tools.

Qualifications

• Must have strong, hands-on AWS production experience including IAM, Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, and IaC tooling.
• Fluency in TypeScript (Node.js) for backend services and Python for data processing.
• Proficiency with Claude and agentic coding tools, with strong governance and review of outputs.

Responsibilities

• Own large parts of the platform end to end from design to production and on-call.
• Design the agent runtime with durable workflows on AWS that can pause for human input and resume.
• Model data behind operations in relational and NoSQL databases and build backend services.
• Collaborate directly with founders and early customers to automate messy processes.

The role: Founding Engineer

You will own large parts of our platform end to end, from the first design sketch to production and on-call. There is no team to hand things off to yet, and that is the point.

What you will work on:

• Designing and building the agent runtime: long-running, durable workflows on AWS that can pause, ask a human for a decision, and resume safely.
• Modelling the data behind operations in relational and document databases.
• Building backend services and internal tools in TypeScript, and data and ML-adjacent tooling in Python.
• Working directly with the founders and early customers to turn messy operational processes into reliable, auditable automation.
• Shaping our engineering culture, tooling and hiring as the team grows.

What we're looking for

Must have:

• Strong, hands-on AWS experience in production: IAM, Lambda, ECS or Fargate, S3, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, and infrastructure as code (CDK, Terraform or SAM).
• Solid database skills: schema design, query tuning and migrations in PostgreSQL, plus working knowledge of DynamoDB or another NoSQL store.
• Fluency in TypeScript (Node.js) for backend services.
• Fluency in Python for data processing, scripting and LLM tooling.
• Proficiency with Claude and agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex. You use them daily, you know when to trust them and when not to, and you review and own every line they produce. You follow Claude best practices, including CLAUDE.md project files, skills and custom slash commands, and you document them so the team can reuse them.

Nice to have:

• Experience building LLM-powered agents: tool use, structured outputs, evals, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop design.
• Background in insurance, reinsurance, financial services or another regulated domain.
• Experience as an early engineer at a startup.

Compensation:

you start with a one-month paid internship at INR 30,000. On successful completion, you move into a full-time role starting at INR 1,00,000 per month, plus equity.
