Job summary

Caterpillar India is seeking an AI Engineer to build and scale AI assistants within the Manufacturing & Supply Digital Platform. You will design integrations, data pipelines, and agent-based solutions, leveraging LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and enterprise APIs to enable real-time decision support.

The role requires Python expertise, experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow, and familiarity with AI governance, observability, and security. Onsite five days a week in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Qualifications

• BS degree in CS/AI or equivalent with quantitative coursework.
• 4–5+ years professional experience in AI/ML engineering or related field.
• Experience building AI assistants, copilots, or conversational AI.
• Exposure to agent orchestration, tool calling, and workflow automation.
• Familiarity with vector databases and enterprise knowledge bases.
