Job summary

PineGap.ai is hiring a senior AI/ML backend engineer in Bengaluru to build products from zero to one and own major features across the full stack. You will iterate rapidly with users, founders, and Customer Success to shape product direction, while architecting scalable, reliable systems and delivering robust, production-grade code.

Ideal candidates have 6–10 years in AI/ML backend engineering, strong CS fundamentals, and hands-on experience with modern web stacks and LLM frameworks, RAG

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of AI/ML backend engineering experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals; Tier-1 college preferred.
• Experience with backend systems and APIs (Node.js, Python).
• Experience with modern web stacks (TypeScript, React, Next.js).
• Familiarity with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and APIs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini).
• Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines and vector databases.
• Experience with LLMOps and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience building end-to-end systems with latency/cost optimization.

• Write clean, well-tested, production-grade code that is easy to read and maintain.

Requirements

• 6-10 years of experience in AI / ML/backend engineering.
• Strong CS fundamentals (Tier-1 college preferred).
• Experience with backend systems and APIs (e. g., Node.js, Python, or similar).
• Experience with modern web stacks (e. g., TypeScript, React, Next.js, or similar).
• Familiarity with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc. ) and with OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini APIs.
• Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines and vector databases.
• Experience with LLMOps and evaluation frameworks.

Other Requirements

• Experience building end-to-end systems from scratch.
• Track record of optimising for latency and cost in production systems.
• Prior work in Series A/B startups or fast-paced environments.
• Comfortable working with data-intensive applications and distributed systems.
• Ability to pick up new technologies quickly and move across the stack as needed.
• Solid understanding of performance, system design, and scalability.
